Converted from a café bookshop back in 2011, Black Betty is a busy café where stylish students from CPIT hang during the week and young families spend their time during the weekend. With a combination of simple design and well-crafted interiors, the café works on the principle that less is more.
On offer is a selection of cabinet food, Fair Trade chocolate and some of the best breakfast options in town. In terms of coffee, you can choose from the standard espresso with SWITCH Espresso beans or new espresso making techniques: siphon and pour over. Make your way to the back of the café where you can watch the coffee roasting process through glass walls.
In a locale relatively starved of good watering holes, Black Betty is also open late to satisfy the night owls out there. Don’t forget to grab a packet of SWITCH coffee to take home and continue the magic.
