J’aime les Macarons are well known in Christchurch. Their Normans Road shop and weekly stall at the Christchurch Farmers’ Market are a hit with locals. Their new café in The Colombo is sure to attract a strong following since it offers what the Normans Road shop doesn’t: the opportunity to sit down and enjoy a cup of tea with your macarons.
The entire (and ever changing) range of macarons is available at the café, along with a selection of beautiful éclairs and other sweet treats. Much like the Normans Road shop, the bright colours of the vibrant selection of macarons stand out against the café’s simplistic yet elegant white setting. The range of tea available is also extensive and interesting.
The lovely girls running the café will happily make recommendations of what flavours are worth trying, and when the macarons are only $2.70 a pop it’s best to try an assortment of flavours. Pretty takeaway boxes of macarons can also be made to order.
