Nothing quite beats a warm sausage roll eaten from its brown paper bag…
You may have sampled one of The Sausage Sisters’ mighty sausage rolls at the Saturday Farmers Market at Deans Bush, but now the ladies are serving their fare during the working week at their pop-up café on Colombo Street.
The Sausage Sisters serve classic sausage rolls, as well as variations on theme including Spinach and Feta, Moroccan Lamb (it’s seriously good!) and Beef and Cheese. They’ve even got vegetarian and gluten free sausage rolls available. These really are the best sausage rolls in town! And for those more partial to a sandwich, the pop up café has custom made sandwiches on offer too.
There is limited indoor seating available, however don’t let that put you off as there is a wooden picnic table in the pretty little courtyard full of flowers as well as a giant chess board. There’s also good selection of magazines to flick through too, and their coffee is excellent.
The Sausage Roll Sisters is a recent addition to the cheap and cheerful establishments popping up in the increasingly popular Sydenham. And it really is cheap when you can pick up a sausage roll, coffee and chocolate chippie biscuit for lunch all for $10 – what a steal!
