A good cup of coffee and the perfect flaky pastry is worth travelling for. Luckily if you’re based in Hastings, you don’t have to go too far to find this heavenly combination, as centrally located Cupple delivers on both fronts.

Run by Hawke’s Bay coffee roasters Firsthand Coffee, this popular café exudes cool vibes, from the minimalist interior and decor to the visually pleasing cabinet lineup, to the buzzing mood surrounding you. On any given morning at Cupple, you’ll find regulars getting their first takeaway coffee of the day, business meetings taking place, families enjoying a moment together before school and work, and visitors who have heard that this is the place to come for their caffeine and carb fix. If it’s a sunny day, make a beeline for the courtyard and take in some vitamin D with your cup of Joe.

One of the best things about Cupple is that it shares a space with wholesale French bakers Ya Bon. So you get a front-row seat watching these masters in patisserie and baking at work, thanks to the large glass windows separating the two businesses. It also means that the pastries in the Cupple cabinet supplied by Ya Bon are guaranteed to be as fresh as possible.

When it comes to ordering at Cupple, you will find it hard to choose between all the incredible treats, plus there are some impressively filled baguettes competing for your attention too. On the coffee side, the menu is short and sweet, with no fancy extras, just a darn good brew. You can also buy beans and an array of items for your coffee-making kit whilst you're here.  The team here are experts, so have a chat with them if you have any questions.

The next time you get a craving for an almond croissant or a pain au chocolat, complemented by some of the best coffee in town, Cupple has your back.
