Located in the heart of the CBD on Christchurch’s High Street, Rascal is a modern bistro offering innovative food and exceptional cocktails.
The Rascal way of dining is all about sharing. Everything is designed to be sampled by the table, and dishes arrive as they are made. It’s a social affair in every way, with casual, attentive service that makes sure everyone is well looked after.
Just about everything on the menu at Rascal is a little out of the norm. Food items on offer are ever-changing and feature new takes on dishes you might recognise, such as savoury doughnuts, duck banh mi eclair or crab pani puri. The kitchen likes to think of a twist on every new item it introduces on the menu, so you’re bound to be in for a surprise dining here.
The drinks play a huge role here at Rascal, and it would be a crime not to sample a cocktail or two while here. Needless to say, the stunning drinks are all created with a hint of cheekiness and a twist on old favourites. Have you ever tried clarified cocktails or perhaps a Martini serve? Well, here’s your chance.
The space itself offers seating options along the bar on high tables, traditional seating at the rear of the restaurant and a cosy courtyard for summer evenings.
Next time you’re thinking about somewhere a little different for your inner-city dining experience, give Rascal a go. Bookings are advised, or you can always try your luck at a walk-in table.
