Situated next door to Hastings’ Tribune Precinct, you’ll find the factory, on-site retail store and headquarters of Real World, a New Zealand-made product range elevating the essential rituals in our homes.

With a focus on using only the most necessary and nourishing plant-based ingredients in their lines, you can rest assured that everything is good for you and also for the planet we inhabit.

Founders and owners Adam and Nicola created the business in 2016 after they both noticed they were dealing with sore, dry hands from everyday life and that the products they were using in their home were a contributing factor. So they decided to do something about it, and Real World was born. Making all the products in the factory on-site, in their range, they have four product groupings; Restore, Repair, Revive and Rest, which in turn all have two different scents.

Each of the scents is matched with a key New Zealand extract, which is the starting point for the nourishment and ‘good-for-you’ factor.  There is a multitude of different products in these groupings, from body wash and lotion to candles and room spray, to dishwashing liquid and even pet wash.

Fragrance envelops you as you walk up to the front door, and when you enter, you are greeted with a harmonious blend of smells. It truly is a tactile experience shopping at Real World as you browse the shelves, sample the balms, creams and lotions, sniff the candles and get a sneak peek into the back room where all the making magic happens.

The simplicity of the space with the black and brass detailing and the nods to nature with well-loved plant life completes the A+ shopping experience. There’s even a refillery where you can bring in your empty bottles and top up your favourite products, another acknowledgment of the importance of sustainability being at the heart of this brand.

So whether you are looking to make a planet positive change in your every day, looking for a special gift or wanting to do something good for yourself, make a visit to Real World, it is well worth the visit.
